Redmi 9 has been unveiled in Spain, Europe on 11th June. As Xiaomi India was busy launching its Mi Band 5, Mi Notebook 14 and Mi Notebook 14 Horizon. Meanwhile, the Redmi 9 was launched in Europe. Soon this phone will make way to India as a successor of Redmi 8. It comes with the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC and has a 5,020mAh battery. The phone also comes with 4 rear cameras as compared to Redmi 8 which has dual rear cameras. Redmi 9 comes with Waterdrop Notch which has an 8MP selfie camera. Redmi 9 runs on Xiaomi’s proprietary OS MIUI 11 which is based on Android 10.
Redmi 9 Price
Redmi 9 price is starting from EURO 149(about Rs 12,800) for 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Another variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is priced at EURO 179 (about Rs 15,300). June 15 onwards customers will be able to pre-order this Redmi phone and it will be available to customers from June 18th. In the pre-order phase, 3GB/32GB variants will be sold for EURO 139 (around Rs 11,900) and 4GB/64GB will be sold for EURO 169 (around Rs 14,500) under the introductory offer. Redmi 9, the successor of Redmi 8, will come in three colour variant i.e. Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple and Ocean Green colour.

Let’s now talk about Redmi 9 specifications in details, This Redmi phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 processor and is ideal for everyday mobile gamers. It is an octa-core processor which comes with two powerful Arm Cortex-A75 core clocked at 2GHz and six Arm Cortex-A55 core clocked at 1.8Ghz. Helio G80 is paired with the Mali-G52 GPU which can boost up to 950MHz. It is the latest processor from MediaTek and is the successor of Helio G70 which was launched previously.
Redmi 9 comes in two RAM/Storage variant i.e. 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. The RAM type is used in this smartphone is LPDDR4x and ROM (storage) type is eMMC 5.1. The internal storage can be increased by using a micro-SD card. It houses a powerful 5020 mAh battery which supports up to 18W fast charge. The battery has support for Quick Charge 3.0 technology. 10W charger is provided in the box with this phone.

Redmi 9 has a 6.53 inch FHD+ Dot Drop display with a resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels and has a pixel density of 394 PPI. The display has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 400 nits brightness. The Redmi smartphone has an 89.83% screen-to-body ratio and its screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Rear Camera
As far as the camera is concerned, the smartphone has a rear quad camera setup which has a 13MP main wide-angle camera with a field of view up to 79-degree and it comes with f/2.2 aperture. The second one is an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera which comes with an f/2.2 aperture and it has a field of view up to 118-degree. Underneath it, the phone has a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and the fourth camera is a 5MP macro lens with an f/2.4 and is placed above the flash. The rear camera has features like ultra-wide-angle mode, Kaleidoscope, portrait mode, HDR and macro mode. The rear camera supports video recordings up to 1080p and 720p at 30fps.

There is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and is placed inside the Dot Drop Notch. The front camera has features like palm shutter, portrait mode, HDR, screen flash and self-timer.
